The character was made by article writer Jerry Siegel and designer Joe Shuster, high school students residing in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1933. The origin history of Superman relates that he was created Kal-El on earth Krypton, before being rocketed to Earth as a child by his scientist dad Jor-El, moments before Krypton's damage.
